Project Description
Rotary Club of Bhaktapur extended its support for women empowerment and economic development by recommending Mrs. Samjhana Rana for the BRISTA Training Scholarship Program at Cocina Mitho Cha, School of hospitality . Mrs. Rana, a resident of Nakkhu Ward No. 4, is currently facing financial hardship as the primary caregiver of her husband, a Person with Disability (PWD) living with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), along with the responsibility of caring for their child.
As part of its commitment toward community welfare and sustainable livelihood support, RC Bhaktapur provided recommendation and coordination support to help Mrs. Rana access vocational skill development opportunities through the scholarship program. The initiative focused on empowering women from vulnerable backgrounds by encouraging skill-based training that can create future employment and income-generating opportunities.
The program mainly targeted women facing socio-economic challenges and highlighted the importance of inclusive economic participation. Through this support, RC Bhaktapur contributed toward women empowerment, family resilience, and financial sustainability for disadvantaged households.
Beneficiary Profile: Mrs. Samjhana Rana, caregiver and homemaker from a financially challenged family.
Budget: Coordination and recommendation support by the club.
Impact/Outcome: Increased opportunity for vocational training, self-reliance, and improved economic stability for the beneficiary and her family.
